Similarities between hydraulic motors and hydraulic pumps:
(1) In principle, hydraulic motors and pumps are reversible. If driven by a motor, the output is hydraulic energy (pressure and flow), which is called a hydraulic pump; If the input pressure oil outputs mechanical energy (torque and speed), it becomes a hydraulic motor.
(2) Structurally, the two are similar.
(3) From the principle of operation, both use modifications to the sealed operating volume for oil suction and discharge. Regarding hydraulic pumps, when the operating volume increases, they absorb oil, and when the operating volume decreases, they discharge high-pressure oil. Regarding hydraulic motors, high-pressure oil enters when the operating volume increases, and low-pressure oil is discharged when the operating volume decreases.
Differences between hydraulic motors and hydraulic pumps:
(1) Hydraulic pumps are power equipment, while hydraulic motors are actuating components. A hydraulic pump is a conversion device that converts the mechanical energy of an electric motor into hydraulic energy, outputting flow and pressure with high expected volumetric power; Hydraulic motor is a device that converts the pressure energy of liquid into mechanical energy, outputs torque and speed, and expects high mechanical power.
(2) The steering of the output shaft of a hydraulic motor must be able to rotate forward and backward, therefore its structure is symmetrical; And some hydraulic pumps (such as gear pumps, vane pumps, etc.) have clear rules for turning, can only roll in one direction, and cannot change the direction of rotation arbitrarily.
(3) In addition to the inlet and outlet ports, hydraulic motors also have separate oil leakage ports; Hydraulic pumps generally only require inlet and outlet ports (with axial piston pumps on the outside), and the leaked oil inside is connected to the inlet port.
(4) The volumetric power of hydraulic motors is lower than that of hydraulic pumps.
(5) Usually, the operating speed of hydraulic pumps is relatively high, while the output speed of hydraulic motors is low.
