[Maintenance of domestic excavator parts] How to park an excavator properly!

After completing their work, some careless operators often neglect the proper parking posture of the excavator, unaware that improper parking can cause damage to the excavator's components. So, how should an excavator be parked in general? Today, let's explore together with Xiaobian how to park an excavator properly.

Parking position one: The forearm is perpendicular to the ground at a 90-degree angle, with the back of the bucket flat on the ground. All cylinders are in an unloaded state, which does not damage the cylinder seals. However, this position exposes a section of the bucket cylinder! Therefore, in actual operation, to prevent accidents, many people retract the bucket cylinder and let the bucket stand on the ground. The advantage of this parking position is that it does not occupy much space, and the bucket cylinder can be fully retracted to prevent knocks. It is also easier to check the hydraulic oil level before starting work each day, and it can effectively prevent the bucket teeth from being stolen.

Parking position 2 is a common parking method during the transportation of excavators. By retracting the boom and bucket to their limits, this parking method has the greatest advantage of occupying the least space, making it convenient for transportation. However, this parking method is rarely used on construction sites due to the stress on the cylinder oil seals and the exposed cylinders. Nevertheless, it is the most common parking method during excavator transportation. This parking method can minimize the height and length of the excavator to the greatest extent, ensuring that the loaded excavator will not exceed the height and length limits, making it convenient for transfer by flatbed transport vehicles.

Parking position three involves extending the boom, arm, and bucket to their limits, while keeping all cylinders in a retracted state. This has the advantage of providing good protection for the cylinders. Especially during rainy or snowy weather, it is recommended to park in this manner to better protect the cylinders. With this parking method, all cylinders are in a retracted state, which is beneficial for protecting the cylinders and also facilitates the inspection of hydraulic oil before work the next day. If it is raining or snowing, or if there are construction operations such as blasting near the work site, it is recommended to park the machine in this way to better protect the excavator's cylinders. If you are experiencing a work stoppage or the excavator will not be working for an extended period, parking in this way allows all cylinders to be immersed in hydraulic oil, greatly protecting their lifespan.
